Laurel (Laurie) Moorhead is offering a salon on the topic of Rubber Stamp Carving on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 1 pm to 3 pm Mountain Time (2 hours) online via Zoom.

In this salon you will learn to design and carve your own personal rubber stamps. Laurie has been carving her own stamps since 2012 and has a collection of over 150 unique stamps she has designed and carved. She will teach you how to make a simple stamp by drawing and transferring a design to easy-to-carve rubber, adding details, thinking about positive versus negative space, lettering, inking, coloring, and more. She will also discuss specialty items you might want to add to your studio after you’ve gotten hooked on this immensely rewarding skill to add to your art repertoire. The maximum number of participants is 20.

Register by 11 pm on Sunday, January 8, 2023, via email to Gail Murray at gail@gpmurray.com. Then pay the salon fee of $20 per person by January 14, 2023, to ensure timely arrival. Pay via check, Zelle, or Venmo, payable to Laurel Moorhead. Mail your check to: Laurel Moorhead, 2611 Grandview Street, San Diego, CA 92110.

To register you MUST have paid your 2023 BAG dues AND the salon fee. Once BAG has confirmed these payments, the Salon Coordinator will email to you the Zoom Link, a .pdf document of Laurie’s stamp carving zine, instructions, and a supply list.
