Call for Workshop Proposals

If you would you be interested in speaking to and/or teaching a workshop for Santa Fe Book Arts Group (SF BAG) via Zoom (preferred) or live, we welcome your proposal.

For the presentation during the monthly BAG member meeting, we pay $250 for a 45-minute to 1-hour presentation. It can be about your life as an artist—your influences, your projects, etc.—or one complex project that you’ve completed. BAG has a Zoom technical team who will assist you—for example, they can advance your slides (if you wish) and amass questions that you can answer at the end of your presentation. We meet at 1 pm Mountain Time, generally on the second Saturday of each month.

The workshop can be held the day after the BAG member meeting (on a Sunday) or one week following, on a Saturday. We find that workshops that are 2 to 4 hours in length are ideal. It can be a longer workshop if you give the students a lunch break of 30 minutes or so. A two-day workshop is also possible, but not preferred. The cost of the workshop is whatever you set it at, either per student or a flat (guaranteed to you) fee.

If you are interested in presenting at a meeting and/or teaching a workshop, please send:

  1. The preferred date of your presentation and/or your workshop
  2. Online (via Zoom) or in person
  3. The title of the presentation and a brief description (one paragraph)
  4. One or two presentation photos
  5. The title of the workshop, a description, and the materials/supply list
  6. Photos of the workshop project (or technique) that you will teach
  7. A headshot
  8. A brief bio
  9. If your presentation and/or workshop contains sensitive material, what those triggers might be (for trigger warning)
  10. The minimum and maximum number of students for the workshop
  11. The workshop fee (per student or a flat, guaranteed amount—your call), including any materials fee
  12. A signed W-9 form
